Direct Review and Discussion between the PT Jawa Satu Power (JSP) Team and the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology Team

Bandung, August 2025 — The Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology (FITB) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has established a strategic partnership with PT Jawa Satu Power (JSP) to study the coastal waters environment and fisheries conditions in PT JSP’s operational area in Cilamaya. This partnership officially began in April 2025.

The study was led by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Mutiara R. Putri, an expert in oceanography and coastal environments. During its implementation, the FITB team conducted various scientific activities, including: Marine and coastal surveys to map the physical and ecological conditions of the study area. Hydrodynamic and sediment transport modeling to understand water dynamics. Laboratory analysis of water quality to assess environmental impacts. As part of this collaboration, on August 4–5, 2025, a team from PT JSP visited ITB. The meeting took place in Lecture Room 1401, 2nd Floor, Labtek XI, FITB.

The visit included intensive discussions with experts from FITB and a tour of the laboratory facilities and research center used in the study. The visit was deemed highly beneficial in strengthening communication and synergy between the two institutions, as well as opening opportunities for ongoing collaboration in environmental studies and coastal resource management.

This collaboration is expected to make a tangible contribution to sustainable environmental management, particularly in the Cilamaya coastal area, and support PT JSP’s commitment to preserving the environment around its operational areas.
