Fakultas Ilmu dan Teknologi Kebumian (FITB) ITB bekerjasama dengan Griffith University kembali menghadirkan ruang kolaborasi akademik berkualitas melalui Program Visiting Academic Leader Equity. Seri perkuliahan terbuka ini mengangkat topik “Geological and Paleontological Aspects of the Caves” yang menghadirkan pakar internasional di bidang paleontologi dan palaeoekologi, Prof. Julien Louys dari School of Environment and Science, Griffith University.

Gua tidak hanya menyimpan keindahan bentang alam karst, tetapi juga menjadi arsip alam yang merekam jejak perubahan iklim, evolusi lingkungan, serta peninggalan fauna purba. Melalui rangkaian kuliah ini, peserta diajak untuk mendalami bagaimana proses geologi membentuk ruang bawah tanah ini sekaligus bagaimana rekaman paleontologi di dalamnya dapat membantu merekonstruksi masa lalu bumi.

The Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology (FITB) ITB, in collaboration with Griffith University, presents an academic lecture series under the Visiting Academic Leader Equity Program. Titled “Geological and Paleontological Aspects of the Caves,” this series features Prof. Julien Louys from the School of Environment and Science, Griffith University.

Caves serve as natural archives that preserve valuable clues about Earth’s palaeoenvironmental history, past climates, and ancient faunal evolution. This lecture series dives into the geological processes involved in cave formation and highlights how paleontological deposits within cave systems allow researchers to reconstruct prehistoric ecosystems.
